New Kirimiri FCS is a single washing station cooperative. This is quite unusual in Kenya as most of the cooperatives have several affiliated washing stations. It is located in Kanja, Embu County. In this area, a lot of farmers have planted the traditional SL varieties, in particular SL34. Cherries collected from the 900 member farmers are sorted before being pulped. The parchment is then fermented overnight, before being washed and graded. After that, it is dried on the drying tables for 8-14 days.
